Day 01: Arrival at Cochin Airport/Railway station. Checkin to the hotel. Then a city tour covering Jewish Synagogue, Santa Cruz Basilica, Chinese fishing nets, Dutch Palace and Antique shops. Evening visit to Chottinikkara temple. We embark on our series of the best known Indian temples with a magnificent temple from God’s Own Country – the Chottanikkara Bhagavathy Temple in the land known as Parasurama Kshetra. Thousands throng the temple each year; it is one of the most visited Hindu shrines in South India and is dedicated to the Goddess Bhagavathy who is worshipped as Saraswati in the morning, Lakshmi during the day, and Durga in the evening. The Chottanikkara Bhagavathy amman (goddess) and the Keezhu Kaavu Bhadrakali amman are worshipped as the healing goddesses. A steady worship of the deities in this temple is believed to cure even life-threatening diseases. The lower temple Bhadrakali is the patron goddess of exorcists of the Hindu faith. A 41-day worship of the Goddess is believed to cure the worst of mental maladies and supernatural possessions by evil spirits. Overnight stay at Cochin.
Day 02: Morning after breakfast proceed to Guruvayur (108km). On the way visit Kodungallur Bhagavathy Temple. It is assumed that the placement of the idol of Kannaki was done about 1800 years ago by Cheran Chenkuttuvan of the Chera Dynasty. The presiding deity of the temple is Bhadrakali (Godess of Kali). Afternoon visit Punnathoor Kotta the famous elephant training centre. Evening visit to Sree Krishna Temple at Guruvayur. It is one of the most sacred pilgrim hubs in Kerala. It is one of the most revered temples in south India where the presiding deity Lord Vishnu is worshiped in Balakrishna Avatar. Then to visit Mammiyoor Siva Temple at Guruvayur. Famous for its large murals, this temple dedicated to Lord Shiva adds to the lore of Guruvayur. Every pilgrim complete their pilgrimage by visiting this temple located just 500 meter from Guruvayur temple housing the shrines of Lord Shiva and Lord Vishnu. Overnight at Guruvayur.
Day 03: Morning after breakfast proceed to Alleppey (140Km). By noon check in at the houseboat in Alleppey for a 20 hour houseboating through the legendary backwaters of Kerala. On the way you will witness a full range of lifes and activities and some mind boggling sceneries. Houseboat with fully furnished spacious bath attached bed rooms, hygiene kitchen, dining area and private deck to capture the beauty of the backwaters. Overnight stay in the houseboat.
Day 04: Morning after breakfast proceed to Kovalam International Beach (180Km). On the way visit SreeKrishna Temple at Ambalappuzha. Built in the typical Kerala architectural style. This temple is dedicated to Lord Krishna. It is famous all over in India for the Palpayasam, a daily offering of deliciously sweet milk porridge. This temple is also has a majestic display of paintings depicting the ten avatars of Lord Vishnu ( Desavatharam). Afternoon at Kovalam. You can spend the rest of the day in the cool beach flanked with coconut grooves on one side and the Arabian sea on the other. Overnight in the beach side hotel.
Day 05: Morning after breakfast proceed for a city tour in Trivandrum the capital city of Kerala, covering Napier Museum and Sri Padmanabha Swamy Temple. Located inside the East Fort in Thiruvananthapuram, the capital city of the state of Kerala, is the Sree Padmanabha Swamy Temple dedicated to Lord Vishnu. The temple is blend of the Kerala and Dravedian styles of architecture. It is believed to be the world’s richest temple. The history of the temple dates back to 8th century. It is believed that it is one of the seven Parashurama Shekthras. Aternoon in leisure and evening for a bit of shopping. Overnight at Thiruvananthapuram.
Day 06:Trivandrum - Morning after breakfast proceed to Trivandrum Airport/ Railway Station for onward journey.
